Vision lets you move with purpose.

It makes the distractions seem stupid.

And increases the chance of your success.

Before realizing that, I was all over the place. I wanted to do too many things at one time:

  • Oh, Notion seems cool and they have a great community. Let's maybe learn it and start selling templates - WRONG!

  • Dan Koe's got a cool community. Let's engage there and gain a few followers via that - WRONG!

  • There's a cool random course on NLP I saw on Twitter, let's maybe try doing it - WRONG!

  • Wow! AI news channels are blowing up. Let's maybe try creating an AI news newsletter - WRONG!

All of these things might be essential for somebody else, but you cannot do them all at once!

This is the result. You move two inches in 10 directions:

Something felt wrong, but I couldn't understand exactly what. But one day, I encountered the idea of essentialism. It comes from Greg McKeown's book: "essentialism":

The whole idea is to reduce the number of tasks to only those that matter. Cut out all the fluff - do only things that align with your ultimate vision.

A good question to ask here is: "What is the current season of my life?". Then, based on this answer identify the essential task for you.

As I said before, for me it's: "This is the season of building AI projects and becoming an AI expert!"

Based on this, I identified tasks that are necessary to make this season a success:

  • "Building AI projects" - this one is simple. Stay up to date with the newest AI developments, think about how you could use the tools to solve problems and BUILD!

  • "Becoming an AI expert" - this one is connected with all of my social media presence. In the creator economy, building is not enough. You need a platform and authority so people can see your work. I want to make it unreasonable for people not to follow me - this is why I'm sharing my whole process and what I do. Twitter, YouTube, and this newsletter are my mediums.

These actions move me like this:

This is today's task for you:

  • Identify at least one thing that distracts you and cut it off.

Let me know what this thing was (respond to this email/catch me on Twitter)!

This is the second day of the 30-day AI challenge.

Over the next month, I will be building Lex Fridman AI engine with you!

If you're reading this, I assume you'd like to build things. If you stick to this newsletter you will have a running project after a month and know the necessary technology to build AI apps.

I've recently built PodcastGPT and want to share the process with the community. If you haven't seen the app yet, you can get access here: https://lukeskyward.gumroad.com/l/podcastgpt

This is all for now! See you tomorrow.

Stay focused!
