The Garden of Focus
why you have weeds in it
I once had a garden. Not of flowers or vegetables, but of ideas and ambitions.
This garden started clean, with a single, purposeful plant. But as time passed, weeds began to sprout. Not just any weeds, but distractions disguised as opportunities.
Social media, endless networking, new tools, and platforms. The garden was overrun, and the original plant – my core ambition – was nearly choked out.
This is a story many of us live. A story where the weeds of distraction overwhelm our garden of focus.
Sam Ovens changed that for me.
In his video, Why Your Mind Is Full Of Weeds, Sam compares our minds to a garden. Our goals and ambitions are the plants we wish to grow, but weeds – distractions – are relentless, growing without invitation.
The lesson was simple yet profound. Identify your plant, and your true goal, and relentlessly weed out the distractions.
I took this to heart.
P.S.
This is the story of my last week.
The plant that I’m growing is the Skool community and the distraction are all of the other ideas that seem cool but take from the core thing that I want to do - creating a great course on becoming an AI Synthesizer.
I won the first battle and I’ve got something cool for you today - the first module of the AI Synthesizer Protocol inside my free community.
You can check it out in the classroom:
Stay tuned, because I’ve got more coming really soon!
Clear skies,
